Every year starts with big plans and by mid January the machine reminds us who is actually in charge.

Before 2026 shows up, what is your New Year resolution with CNC machining? Better setups, fewer “how did I miss that” moments, cleaner workflows, or finally slowing down and double checking before hitting cycle start.

No judgment here. Some resolutions are about precision, some are about patience, and some are just about keeping the scrap bin from filling up so fast. Curious what people are aiming to improve next year and what lessons 2025 already taught you the hard way.

Drop one realistic goal. Bonus points if your machine already warned you about it.

Cleaner setups and fewer mid-job tweaks. If I can start a job with everything actually thought through, the machine tends to behave a lot better.
