how much do you pish your lathe live tools

It's not like I'm gonna need this anytime in the future, but I was just curious how much have you pushed them and have you experienced some problems?
 
it depends on the machine, material and many other factors. start slowly and see how far you can push it before it starts to "complain" and that's about the limint you wouldn't want to go over

Lathe live tools can handle a fair amount of workload, but pushing them too hard often leads to overheating or faster wear on bearings.

It's ok to ask and be curious about it. For me I don't push it hard, but I heard other people do hard on them. They hold up decently for what they are but as @feed&steve here mentioned, it's prone to damages. Just make sure you do regular servicing and maintenance!

I think this is the answer you're looking for, apart from the complaining part. Not sure how well versced you are but you may not notice the machine complaining and you'll end up damanging it. As long as it's doing it's job right and you complete your projects you're probably fine. Once things start to seem weird or a bit off that's when you took it too far

this is 100% true, got a coworker experienced this before, pushing them too hard can lead to premature bearing failure
 
I've pushed them pretty hard a few times, and honestly, they've held up surprisingly well, only thing is heat buildup if you run them continuously, but no major failures so far
