Switching to dry machining

dry machining's a bit scary for me, what did you use it for?

Here at eh university that I work for we use dry machining almost exclusively ( I also use dry or miniquatity lubrications (MQL) in my home shop as well). Biggest is always getting rid of chips and we use dry air. You do have to pay attention ot the coating on you tools and in our experience you need to keep th etools shaper than if you were using coolant.
