I just snatched a used sabre 500 for almost nothing, but it has been kept in storage, without power for more than a year.
I tried it and got an error on the spindle drive.
error 83 and something else. I think the battery in the vsf5 memory may be dead. Is this something you can solve yourself, or does the memory have to be reinstalled by a Kollmorgen authorised person?
can it be solved with motionlink plus?
need advice from everyone about this

A long period without power often wipes the VFS5 program, which then triggers spindle faults like you are seeing. MotionLink Plus can sometimes confirm the status and tell you if the drive still has its parameters. If everything is blank you may need a service reload. What did the second error message say?
