my current combo is haas mini mill and grizzly g0709 gunsmith and i have a larger project that I feel this wouldn't help me out as much as I need. Anyone has any recomendations for me?

How about the Haas VF-2 for its increased work envelope and power or a precision lathe like the Grizzly G0509G for heavy duty gunsmithing. What kind of larger project are you working on?

If you've got bigger projects, it might be worth checking out the Haas Mini Mill 2 for more capacity and speed compared to your Mini Mill. If the Grizzly G0709 is doing the job for gunsmithing but you're looking for more power, maybe consider the 14 x 40 gearhead lathe. You could also think about converting your Grizzly lathe to CNC if that sounds good. Just a suggestion

VF2, VF3, or larger would be great, you know. I mean, since you're already familiar with Haas, stepping up to a larger VF series machine would get you increased travel, a more powerful spindle, and all the things that allow you to handle bigger parts and more complex operations
