Do hobby/small CNC setups need coolant filtration?

I’m mainly a D&D hobbyist who got into CNC as a side project to make custom dice boxes and terrain pieces. I’m running a small setup here in Utah and coolant is one thing I’m still trying to figure out. I’ve seen people talk about filtration systems (do i need it?) but are they really worth it for a small shop like mine? I’m not running big production jobs... just a few aluminum and wood projects each week. Or reworking stuff i broke. Do these systems save you headaches in the long run?? or is it overkill unless you’re running machines full-time? Anyone in a small shop (or hobby setup for small stuff) find a coolant filtration setup that made sense budget-wise?
 
If you’re cutting aluminum often, a small filtration setup can help keep the coolant from gumming up or going rancid. But if you’re mostly on wood or short aluminum runs, just watch for buildup and change it out every few weeks. No point in dropping money on a system that’ll cost more than your material.

For the aluminum work, coolant filtration is beneficial even for a small shop like yours! You don't need a huge commercial system, but aluminum fines are terrible since they clog lines, damage pumps, and make your coolant go rancid fast like @Captain_Goofy mentioned. Your simple chip tray won't catch it all. I say invest in a basic, multi-stage filtration setup! That will save you the major headache of frequent sump cleanouts and expensive coolant replacement in the long run.
