December cuts giving me more chatter than usual

I have been cutting some aluminum ornaments this month and my machine has been extra picky. Slight chatter on cuts that were smooth in October and a little more vibration on long passes. The only real change is that the shop is colder now and I am trying to figure out if that is enough to throw things off.

Does your machine act differently during cold-shop months. Do you see more chatter or tighter tool tolerance issues when the temperature drops. I keep thinking I missed something in setup but the only variable that keeps coming up is December. Curious how others deal with it.

cold shops absolutely mess with things. I see more chatter every winter, especially on longer aluminum passes. Metal, spindle, and even the ways all need time to warm up. I usually let the machine idle a bit and do a light warm-up cut before anything serious.

Cold shops have a way of making everything feel slightly off, even when nothing obvious changed. It’s usually enough to make you question your whole setup. Have you noticed it settle down once the machine’s been running for a while, or does it stay consistent all day?
