Cutting stainless steel with plasma cutter

I've been trying to figure out how to cut stainless still with plasma cutter... mine is not looking really good rather it's rough around the edges (wow) and I've tried numerous settings already. My friend said it may be because of the type of gas I'm using but I'm not really sure... Which to use? Compressed air? Oxygen? Nitrogen? So expensive. I don't know I'm stuck at the moment.

You can stick with air or nitrogen for your cutter. If you use a different gases it might mess it up. we dont want to start a fire!

@excelguy7 is on to something man Or you can try argon-hydrogen. Much better than compressed air definitely.
