looking for tips in using this for milling. How does it compare to the other hard materials that you used?
I'm just seeing your post from several months ago and am wondering what you discovered in your alumina composite machining project? That's a very interesting category of materials to work with. The first step is to clarify the exact composition, as 'alumina composite' can refer to a couple of very different products with opposite machining requirements. An aluminum composite panel with a plastic core is quite soft and easy to mill but a true ceramic matrix composite with alumina particles is extremely hard and highly abrasive to tooling. Do you have a technical data sheet or a trade name for the specific material you were planning to use?looking for tips in using this for milling.
