annoying four digit code always popping up

I'm working with this older machine, and it's throwing me a curveball! So, I'm trying to slow down the machine's movement one notch, but then the machine showed a flashing four digit code in yellow.
I know that it doesn't indicate a problem, just showing tht the rapid speed has changed. But It's annoying because it makes me have to stop and check, even though there's nothing wrong.
Can someone here tell me how to set this so that it stops flashing the yellow code every time the rapid speed is changed?
 
If you check the machine's manual or settings menu, there's likely an option to turn off non-critical alerts like the flashing code. The tech behind this is cool because it's designed to keep you informed, but it can be overeager. Have you tried adjusting the notification settings or consulting the control panel for a way to turn off these alerts? -Wade
 
It seems like your machine is just showing the rapid override code, which is pretty common on older CNCs. It's just indicating the new rapid speed, not a problem. Take a look at your settings,some controls allow you to turn off or reduce those messages. If you share the machine's make and model, someone might be able to help you find the right setting
 
My Haas mini mill errors out if I try to run it at the Fusion 360 post processor output where the feed rate is set to 650. I lowered it to (I think) F400 and the error goes away. BTW. Just feed in your G-code and machine model and controller to ChatGPT and ask for help. It can identify lots of issues:)
 
Nice move on lowering the feed rate; 650 can be too high for Haas minis. Using ChatGPT to review G-code is a clever idea. Have you tried using it to tweak other settings as well?
 
Yes, I use it for everything. I’ve trained it to give me specific speeds and feeds for any cutter and any material. It will even give it to me in the same tabular order of listing that is found in Fusion. You simply go down the list and fill in the blanks. I told it to be extremely conservative so I never see tool breakage. LOL. It is pretty good, but I still get the occasional broken end mill.

It is also very good at solving those “rapid move into stock” error messages. I feed it an image of the simulation and the G code as well as screenshots from the various tabs inside the machining strategy tabs (heights, geometry, etc) and can often spot the issue quickly. And…sometimes not. I use it on those situations where I’ve tried lots of options and failed. Sometimes it will find a setting I missed or did not think would matter.

Just like the machine. ChatGPT and Ai in general is a tool. Unlike the machine, Ai improved each day. The good, via usage, degraded each day. Entropy is seemingly reversed!

That's cool how you've trained it to dial in speeds and feeds like that! super handy. And yeah, spotting those rapid move errors sounds awesome. we just really have to use AI to our advantage most of the time

Check your control settings for an alert filter or message suppression option. There are machines that allow you to tone down non-critical pop-ups like that through the diagnostic or user configuration so I guess just tinker with it or something.
 
I used to have something similar on an old lathe, every little adjustment to the speed would trigger a code as if it just hit the jackpot. It took me some time, but I finally discovered a hidden setting in the config menu that silenced it. It's definitely worth exploring; sometimes the solution is just a few menus away.
