Thinking about adding another machine to the shop and trying to figure out what’s the best bang for the buck right now. I’m based here in Nebraska, running mostly aluminum and mild steel parts for small local contracts, but I’d like something that can handle tighter tolerances and faster cycle times without jumping into crazy financing. I’ve been looking at Haas, Tormach, and possibly a used Okuma if the right deal pops up. Anyone running these brands in the Midwest like what’s been holding up best for reliability and ease of service? Would love to hear what’s working well for small operations. Not looking for anything flashy, just dependable and easy to maintain when service techs are hours away.
