I'm about to get a rotary phase converter for my Brother Speedio, and they're asking if I need a Y or Delta setup. The machine hasn't arrived, so I can't check its nameplate wiring.

Any tips on figuring out the right configuration? Also, I'm eyeing a 20 HP ADX model from American Rotary. Would that be a good size for a standard machine tool?

It's usually wired for Delta on the nameplate, but double check it when it arrives. 20 HP ADX should be plenty for most standard machine tools, plenty of headroom for startup loads

Without the nameplate, it's hard to be sure, but most Speedios run fine on a Delta setup. and 20 HP ADX should be plenty for a standard machine tool, it's a solid size for starting up and running without voltage sag
