Need Help Diagnosing Probe Skip Signal Issue

've got a touch probe wired into the controller, and it had been working fine for a while, accurate, reliable, no hiccups. But lately, during probing cycles, I'm randomly getting a skip signal error, like the controller thinks the probe was triggered when it wasn't, sometimes it happens mid cycle, and other times it doesn't trigger at all. I've checked the wiring for loose connections and swapped in a known good probe, but the problem still comes and goes, so I'm sitting duck and I dont know how else to go about it, this issue has cost me valuable work hours

Sounds like an electrical or grounding problem. Check the wiring and make sure it's shielded properly, there are sources of emi which can cause these problems. Check the ground as well of the probe and the controller. You mentioned you replaced the probe for a good one, so maybe do a calibration cycle and reset the settings just to be safe.

Have you ruled out interference from nearby equipment or checked if the controller's firmware needs updating?

Is there any physical vibration or movement near the controller or probe wiring that could cause a momentary break/contact?
