is high speed steel magnetic?

As the title said, I’m curious if the HSS is actually magnetic. if it is, does it have a strong snap like 400 series stainless, or is it a super weak pull like 300 series?
I’ve never worked with this alloy before and can't find a straight answer online. Any help would be awesome!

Are you asking because you’re trying to ID a mystery tool blank, or because you want to use a magnet for chip cleanup or workholding? The reason matters a bit for what “magnetic enough” means.

I suspect you have a number of HSS tools in your shop, same as I have. Drill bits, hand reamers, even end mills are all often made of some version of HSS; all the HSS tools I have are all nearly as magnetic as soft iron. Find a magnet and test a few of your tools.
