I think that's a great idea. I got a couple of tips for you. first, get the right parts. Make sure your power feed kit is specifically for the G0704 or a compatible model. A universal one might require extra work you don't want to deal with.
also make sure to read the manual carefully. Even if it's a bit sparse, the Grizzly manual is the first place to start. Pay close attention to how the old handwheel and end plate come off.
