Kinda new to this whole TIG welding scene. Not really familiar with aluminum too so I just need help from you guys to be safe. I'm so dumb for not thinking there could be some carcinogenic effects to grinding tungsten if I'm not wearing mask. What kind of mask should I wear? What do you? My grandkids love visiting me at my work station and am worried they'll inhale leftover particles. I know I should worry about radioactivity and all that BS so do I have to get them to wear masks also? Maybe there is some way I can completely remove the risk, like say, a more expensive grinder? Let me know please.

oh man, that's not something you should kid around. p100 respirator is the best thing you can do and work in a well ventilated area

Don't beat yourself up, you're asking the right questions now, and that counts and for grinding tungsten, good quality mask with a P100 or N100 filter will handle the fine particles. If you're worried about the grandkids, best bet is to keep the grinding area separate and clean, maybe even set up a little extraction fan or dedicated tungsten grinder with a vacuum
