Dogless reference positioning setting on lathe with Fanuc?

my 2008 YCM GT260 MA lathe's batteries went belly up, and now it's lost its way to home position. I have a Fanuc Oi-C controller, and the manual says to 'execute dogless reference position setting' but the problem is, it doesn't explain how to actually do that. I need to get the X and Z axes homed again. I probably also need to reset the turret so it knows where tool number 1 is. Any tips on the exact steps for this dogless referencing procedure?
 
I've done this before, but for a mill. I used a lathe procedure to set it, so it should work. You can google it. I did and found several references

Check if your machine's parameters were backed up before the battery failure. If not, you'll need to manually reset the reference positions. Navigate to parameter 1815 on the Fanuc Oi-C controller and set the APZ bit to 1 for each axis after jogging them to their correct home positions. Have you also checked the turret alignment? Resetting it to recognize tool #1 might require additional steps depending on your machine's config. Let me know if you need more details!

Agree with @feed&steve try moving the X and Z axes to their home positions manually using jog mode. Then also go into parameter write-enable mode (Parameter 8000 bit 0=1). You may do this quickly by pressing P+CAN. @feed&steve said the thing about parameters 1815 bit 0 for X and bit 4 for Z, then set both to 1 for dogless reference. After all this just turn off the write enable mode :) Makes sense?
