I've been a CNC Machinist/Programmer for coming up on 10 years which may not seem like a lot to many but as its been a passion since before I first took the apprenticeship. I've been dug in every second scraping to learn anything and everything I can and learn to use every CNC machine at my disposal and eventually build three CNC machines and rebuild every part of ones at work. Designing new parts and learning to write post processors from scratch for CNC machines too old for Fusion360 to have premade post processors for them by reverse engineering existing hand written programs or programs written on old software that no longer exists making these old CNC machines useful again and capable of modern production and simulation. I love CNC machines, the first thing I did when starting my apprenticeship was building my first Epoxy Granite / steel / aluminum CNC from scratch including the spindle and everything but the bolts and the linear rails and NSK Super Precision Angular contact spindle bearings and Harmonic drive for the B-Axis head. I would now like to branch out into a Plasma table to create replacement parts for dying machinery in our rural area.
