pros and cons of your CAM software

my boss got us a new Biesse 5 Axis machine, and we're already getting used to using the usual proprietary software (bSolid) for all the things we normally make.
We're looking to buy a 3d scanner and start bidding on more complex jobs, so we've started to try more 5 axis machining and discovered that we might need a more advanced cam program
what CAD/CAMs have you guys used, and what are the pros and cons?

we're looking for the best that we can use for this new machine

If you’re coming from bSolid, almost anything will feel more flexible. I’d look at HyperMill if your boss is serious about complex parts. The pros are insane surfacing and post options. The con is the price, and the fact that you basically need a dedicated guy to run it. It’s not something you casually learn on a Friday afternoon.

bSolid works fine for standard production, but once you start pushing more advanced toolpaths, it feels limiting pretty quickly. HyperMill and Mastercam are the two I see most often in shops that use 5 axis Biesse machines. What features do you feel you are missing right now? Toolpath control, simulation accuracy, or something else?

Hi OP! I've always used Fusion360, it's great, covers everything I could want, also there are plugins if you need something specific

what CAD/CAMs have you guys used, and what are the pros and cons?

I like Inventor for 3D CAD work. For CAM, I'm not a big fan of Fusion due to its lack of custom tool importing, and my company uses MasterCAM
The biggest problem with that is the cost haha. around $23K for a new license
