DIY Benchtop CNC Milling machine

Except for the Mini-mill head, I designed and built the milling machine shown in the following pics. The majority of the structure is made from 1/2" 6061 aluminum plate.

To counter the weight of milling head and motor, I use a multi-pully block-&-tackle connected to larger spring at one end and the mill head at the other end.

The table was machined from a single slab of 1" thick aluminum fixture-plate which was hard coat anodized after the T-slots were milled.

For the final configuration, I added a rotation plate which the milling head is mounted to; this plate allows the head to rotate 90 degrees CW and CCW which allows for horizontal milling.

Here's a peek into the step motor control box which has drivers for X, Y, Z, & A. The printed circuit boards were sold by this Company, and are no longer available. The boards came as a kit, and all the parts needed to be soldered onto the boards.
